Mission

Mission Statement
To provide a place for healing, comfort, spiritual support, and love for those being treated at the Mayo Clinic.
Goals:
The Hands of Compassion is rooted in the Biblical example of compassion. The sick, the afflicted, and the emotionally distressed are centered in the heart of our God. This truth is like a cohesive thread running throughout the Bible. It is that same thread that joins the hearts and minds of a caring body of people.
Our primary goals include:
- Provide housing to Mayo patients and family caregivers based on the capacity limits of the Hands of Compassion facilities.
- Provide referrals and discount housing options and advice for potential guests that HOC cannot support or directly provide housing.
- For HOC guests, potential HOC guests, and other Mayo patients who notify HOC or Mayo, provide emotional and spiritual support via the HOC Chaplain.
- Actively reflecting compassion to all Mayo patients and families from the HOC ministry team, HOC board members, and all who come into contact with our guests. Whether locally or outside of Rochester or other Mayo facility locations.
- Meeting operational fund-raising goals and HOC operating budget.
- Realizing expansion capital/fund raising project goals and additional targets for HOC house equipment, capital acquisitions and staff recruiting goals.
